Honours Nominations - Guidance
Any individual can nominate a deserving person within their community
for public recognition. Honours Nomination Forms will be sent to applicants
on request to:

The Nomination Form contains guidelines on how it should be completed,
what information should be included and gives advice about supporting
letters. If you need further advice when completing the form please
contact Joanne Holmes at the Lieutenancy Office.
Lists of those awarded an Honour are published on New Year's Day
and on The Queen's official birthday in June. Only a small proportion
of submissions is successful and a proven track record of selfless
voluntary service within the community or outstanding achievement
is essential to gain recognition. It may take up to 18 months for
an Honour to be awarded.

Etiquette
The correct form of address for the Lord Lieutenant is:
- Written: Mr Allan Willett CMG, Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant
of Kent.
- Salutation: Dear Lord Lieutenant, or Dear Mr Willett.
- In a speech preamble: My Lord Lieutenant.
- Conversation: On formal occasions - Lord Lieutenant, or Mr
Willett, then Allan.
Protocol
The Lord Lieutenant is Her Majesty The Queen's representative in
the County. Issues relating to Protocol and Precedence can be clarified
by consultation with the Lieutenancy Office.
