Formerly Chairman of Sandwich-based family engineering business that won five Queen's Awards for Export. Has been involved in the public sector as Chairman of Kent and Canterbury Hospital Trust, Chairman of South Kent College, Vice-Chairman of Canterbury Festival and Treasurer of the University of Kent. Involved in voluntary and charitable works in the County.

Colonel (Retd) Peter Bishop OBE DL (5)

Following operational service in Aden, Cyprus and Northern Ireland became senior military public information officer, Headquarters UK Land Forces; later Chairman Challenger UK/World, and former Colonel Commandant of Kent Army Cadet Force; Chairman, Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment Museum Trustees.

Mr Peter W Blackwell JP DL (6)

A retired human resources manager born and educated in Kent. Appointed a magistrate in 1971, and has held prominent positions in the Magistracy at Bench, county and national levels. Involved in several Tunbridge Wells based charities and voluntary organisations.

Involved with the criminal justice system for many years, as a magistrate and as a member of the Independent Monitoring Board at HMP Blantyre House. Still a trustee of Blantyre House Vocational Trust and involved with a school for disadvantaged girls in Ghana and the Pestolozzi Village at Sedlescombe.

Mr John (Algy) Cluff DL (28)

Served in the Grenadier Guards 1959-65 and is Vice President of the East Kent Grenadier Association; President Kent Wing Air Training Corps; Vice President of Kent Army Bevevolent Fund; and Chairman of the War Memorials Trust. Was Chairman of the Spectator for 25 years and is currently Chairman and Chief Executive of Cluff Gold Plc.

Senior Partner of a Quantity Surveying Practice. Former Chief Commissioner of England for the Scout Association, currently chairing the organising committee of the 2007 Centenary World Scout Jamboree in the UK.

Former Chief Constable of Kent and Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police, he is Director, Anti-Corruption Unit, International Cricket Council, and is active in police charities.

Mrs Amanda Cottrell OBE JP DL (7)

Former High Sheriff and Magistrate, now Chairman of Visit Kent, Board member of Visit England, Patron of Produced in Kent and a Kent Ambassador. Mr Roger De Haan CBE DL (12)

Having retired as Chairman of the Saga Group in 2004, he is now engaged in the arts-led regeneration of the Old Town, seafront and harbour areas of Folkestone, his home town. He is the sponsor of two City Academy projects in Kent, and chairs The Roger De Haan Charitable Trust and The Creative Foundation, an arts charity at the heart of the regeneration project.

Lieutenant Colonel (Retd) Richard C B Dixon TD DL (14)

Born and educated in Kent, his TA service included command of the 5th Battalion, Queen's Regiment. Now retired from business, he retains an interest in the Reserve Forces and Cadets in Kent for which he is the link DL.  He is also active in various military charities including The Army Benevolent Fund, The Soldiers' Charity.

Served in the RAF, is a former deputy chief photographer with the Kent Messenger Group and now runs his own public relations photography business. Joined Kent Army Cadet Force in 1975 recently retired as lieutenant colonel heading the Media Team. Supporter of military veterans' organisations.

Voluntary and charitable interests included work for Social Services, with Hospice at Home, Friends of Kent Churches and with the National Gardens Scheme, for which she was County Organiser for 12 years from 1988-2000, and is currently Kent Chairman.

Colonel Peter Gilbert TD DL (16)

A General Practitioner in Rochester, he has served in the Regular Army and the Territorial Army, commanding the UK Field Hospital in Camp Bastion, Afghanistan, in 2009 before becoming Deputy Commander of 2 (South East) Brigade in Shorncliffe.

Jools Holland OBE DL (63)

Musician and big band leader, he hosts BBC 2's music programme Later with Jools Holland as well as his own Radio 2 Show. Appointed OBE in 2004 for his services to music. Keen on the preservation and prosperity of Kent.

A farmer working to integrate farming and wildlife within the Kent countryside, he created Elmley National Nature Reserve on the Isle of Sheppey, and Cheyne Court Nature Reserve on Romney Marsh. A former High Sheriff, he is a Kent Ambassador.

Mrs James Teacher (Chloe) has lived and farmed in Kent for most of her life with regular forays to Scotland where she has family commitments. She was on the Kent Committee of the CLA for 20 years, serving as County Chairman and on various headquarters committees. Group Captain Patrick Tootal OBE DL RAF (Retd) (53)

A former RAF pilot. In 1990, following the resumption of diplomatic relations with Argentina, served as the UK’s Defence Attaché in Buenos Aires.
