  • Arranging for a Deputy Lieutenant to visit, suitably badged and identifiable, to acknowledge the work going on and provide feedback to the Lord Lieutenant.

  • Advising on procedure for The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.

  • Advising on how any member of the public can nominate a key player for an honour, and supporting the honours nomination when referred back to the Lord Lieutenant for comment.

  • Where appropriate, probably in connection with a Lieutenancy visit, generating media coverage of an organisation's work.

  • Celebrating and encouraging volunteering.

  • Accepting suggestions (by early January annually) for the attendance at Royal Garden Parties of individuals deserving recognition.

  • Mentioning the organisation, in context, in media releases or speeches to assist with profile and recognition.
